Established in 1972, Kendriya Vidyalaya Bacheli began its journey atop Akash Nagar before transitioning to its permanent home within the NMDC Complex in Bacheli. Situated in the Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh—approximately 450 km from the state capital, Raipur, and seamlessly connected along the Kirandul–Visakhapatnam rail line—the institution was founded to bring quality learning to the heart of the Bastar region.
